Eight standard sizes

Sizes are working (inside) width × depth × height. If none fits your parts, we build composite curing ovens of any size.

Autoclave-grade features in an oven

  • CPC computer control, the same system that runs our Econoclaves
  • The same part vacuum system we install on Econoclaves
  • Part thermocouples to control and monitor each part
  • Combination airflow for even heating
  • Walk-in loading on the floor or on carts
  • Built, wired, and tested in our Valencia plant

Available options

Oven options

VP

Vacuum pumps

Some customers supply vacuum from an in-house system, but most prefer dedicated pumps on the oven.

VP1
One vacuum pump, fully integrated with the oven, with PC controls
VP2
Two vacuum pumps with PC auto-switching and redundancy
More about vacuum pumps

ASC standardizes on Airtech L-series rotary-vane, oil-sealed pumps for aerospace vacuum. Each includes an exhaust filter, vibration isolators, and anti-suckback valve, and reaches 29.8 inHg (2 mmHg) at 60 Hz and sea level.

With VP2, the PC can run a single pump, both pumps, or auto-switch between them for balanced duty and redundancy.

Sizing

Our rule of thumb for composites is about 2 cfm per vacuum source line. A oven with 10 source lines gets an L25 pump rated at 20 cfm.

CT

Carts

ASC builds a wide range of carts for oven loading.

CTT
Transfer cart, to move the load cart to and from a oven that is not pit mounted
CTA1
Load cart, single level, standard top
CTA2
Load cart, multi-level, for stacking tools and parts
CTAX
Custom cart; describe your requirement
More about carts

Transfer cart

Used on the shop floor to carry the load cart between the layup room and the oven. It has a handle, a pair of swivel wheels, and a lock that secures it to the oven while the load cart rolls in or out.

Load carts

Single-level carts roll on the oven rails (V-groove or channel) with an expanded metal or flat plate top. Multi-level carts stack tools and parts; a sales engineer will confirm your exact requirements.

PW

Power, voltage, and frequency

The standard oven is designed for 480 V / 3-phase service with 24 VDC control power, and we can build for any international voltage and frequency.

PW1
480 V / 3 phase / 60 Hz primary power, 24 VDC control power
PW2
380 V / 3 phase / 50 Hz primary power, 24 VDC control power
PW3
400 V / 3 phase / 50 Hz primary power, 24 VDC control power
PW4
415 V / 3 phase / 50 Hz primary power, 24 VDC control power
PW5
575 V / 3 phase / 60 Hz primary power, 24 VDC control power
PW6
Custom power; describe your requirement
More about power, voltage, and frequency

ASC's plant runs on 480 V / 3-phase power, so for PW2 through PW6 we test the oven in-house on a rented diesel generator. The generator rental and slightly higher motor costs are priced into the project, so expect a small increase in price.

TR

Transportation

Many customers arrange their own freight, but ASC can quote delivery of your oven from our plant to your facility.

More about transportation

We use one of our preferred shippers, and the quote includes all costs and insurance. For ocean freight we can quote CIF port of entry or DDU to your factory. Because our standard markup applies, buying freight directly from a carrier will usually cost less.

RG

Offload and rigging

On turnkey projects and larger deliveries, customers often have ASC offload and rig the oven for single-source responsibility.

More about offload and rigging

The RG option covers offloading at your facility and rigging the oven into its final position, using our own crew plus local crane and rigging contractors as needed.

IN

Installation

Most customers have ASC install the oven. Choose an ASC expert to guide your own team, or a full installation by ASC.

IN1
An ASC installation expert assists your employees or contractors
IN2
ASC installs the oven and auxiliary systems
More about installation

IN1: Installation assistance

Less expensive than full installation. One ASC expert works on site for a fixed number of days, with airfare, rental car, hotel, and subsistence included. Installation takes from 3 to 5 days for small ovens up to 5 to 6 weeks for large, complex units.

IN2: Full installation

All material and labor to install the equipment, including mechanical and electrical connections, crews, travel, lift equipment, and rental vehicles. It connects:

  • Oven to compressed air utilities
  • Vacuum vent to building vent or exterior

IN2 assumptions

  • Water, compressed air, and utilities are within 10 ft of the oven

IN2 exclusions

Available separately on request:

  • Transportation (TR) and startup and training (ST)
  • Civil work: foundations, walls, and wall and roof penetrations and sealing
ST

Startup and training

An ASC field engineer starts up the equipment and control system at your facility and trains your people. All labor, travel, and living costs are included.

More about startup and training

For small ovens and control systems, the engineer is typically on site for 5 days; larger ovens can take 2 weeks or more. The engineer validates every safety and functional system, runs tests to confirm performance against your requirements, and trains your engineers, operators, quality staff, and maintenance staff in programming, operation, and support. Training certificates are available on request.
