Certification questions
What does an ASME U stamp mean?
The U stamp shows that a manufacturer is authorized by ASME to design and build pressure vessels to Section VIII, Division 1 of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Each stamped vessel is inspected by an authorized inspector during fabrication and hydrotest.
Can ASC repair a pressure vessel it did not build?
Yes. The National Board R stamp authorizes ASC to alter and repair National Board registered ASME pressure vessels, including autoclaves built by other manufacturers.
Can ASC build to codes outside the United States?
Yes. Besides ASME, ASC builds to the European Pressure Equipment Directive and holds pressure vessel licenses for China and South Korea. We also build to JIS for Japan and can advise on the code that applies where your equipment will run.
