ASC’s GTR (Gerber Table Retrofit) package provides modernization of older Gerber cutting and plotter tables. The package includes Pentium III PC, ASC’s GTR software, new Parker stepper motors, Parker stepper drives, and Parker indexer for PC-based operation of all table parameters.

ASC will replace the existing proprietary stepper motors and drives with Parker 6000 Series controllers and S-type motors. These components are factory stocked by Parker and supported world-wide.

ASC’s GTR software is a Windows 98/NT solution to meet the needs of existing Gerber users. This software operates on a Pentium PC and interfaces with the indexer and drives to provide complete control of the X-axis, Y-axis, and cutter/plotter mechanisms.

The software accepts older Gerber code or standard G-code. The user can also add comments and data to existing programs in order to provide additional documentation.

The GTR interface provides a visual display of the programmed cutting/plotting path. While the program runs, the path is updated to indicate the current head position and cutting history.

Screen buttons and icons are provided for manual control of the head position, speed, and cutter/plotter orientation. Real-time update of X and Y location occurs during a programmed run.

As the program executes, the software displays a cut-by-cut analysis of starting point, ending point, radius, and other factors.

If a program is terminated prematurely due to material problems or operator intervention, it is advantageous to restart the program at a operator specified point. The software provides the operator the means to graphically identify the specific block which will initiate the restart operation.
