Trimble # ICS-5000 dynamic positioning system
Trimble announced that the ICS will no longer be manufactured!!
Trimble has announced that it will no longer be manufacturing or selling the ICS5000. Support will continue until 2009, but new sales will cease in April, 2005.
Trimble's decision was based on a need to standardize on its core products, GPS-based instruments.
ASC is unhappy at Trimble's decision, because in our view this was the best positioning system available for hoists and cranes in the wet-process industry.
To meet the needs of ICS customers, ASC is now considering development of a product that can provide similar closed-loop control for other distance meters (ie. SICK, Stahltronic)
